About

My name is Barry Jackson.
I was born in May 1972.
I live in Thundersley in Essex.
I have been interested in wildlife for most of my life but during a boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads in 1996 my wife and I came face to face with our first Bittern and this was the catalyst that started me bird watching.
I had only used compact cameras for holiday snaps then having booked our first wildlife holiday to Borneo I bought my first 35mm SLR camera from then on I have been hooked on wildlife photography.
I tried my hand at digiscoping for a while and for distant record shots still find this a useful method.
In 2000 I moved into my current house and since been lucky enough to have Badgers, Foxes,
Wood Mice and a host of birds including Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers, Siskin and Brambling visit my garden.
Whether it's photographing Starlings in my garden or a rarity like a White Crowned Sparrow on the North Norfolk coast I still find the buzz is the same!!
